Managing Oneself
Some time ago I concluded that time management was really management of oneself.
For the majority managing time is often following what's on the calendar. And what gets on the schedule often comes from external sources.
Managing yourself has more to do with what you allow on the calendar in the first place. Saying "no" is more important than saying, "yes," although this tends to be hard to do.
A lot of what gets on a calendar when times are good is what interests the executive. There is freedom to come and go and time is a perk. But when things are tough, as they are now, the right schedule equals survival and success.
In our current blog post, "Eleven Minutes of Football," we discuss critical issues in managing the corporate clock. You can read the post at StrategistBlog.com.
We look forward to hearing from you.
